Analytics Engineering Manager II - Remote in the United States
Lead analytics engineering for Inroads’ healthcare.gov outreach programs, guiding a small team and shaping reliable data systems. The role centers on dbt, SQL, Airflow, Snowflake, data modeling, and analytics delivery.
Description
- Lead and support a small Analytics Engineering team in collaboration with Analysts and Data Engineers
- Establish data modeling standards and dbt practices for the healthcare.gov outreach team
- Migrate, refactor, and optimize complex SQL into maintainable dbt pipelines
- Create dimensional models and semantic layers that support business questions and KPI tracking
- Design and oversee Airflow DAGs for dependable data orchestration
- Introduce data quality controls and track the reliability of analytical data
- Document datasets, lineage, and transformation logic for ongoing team use
- Improve query performance and model efficiency while managing Snowflake consumption
- Build working knowledge of federal healthcare programs, ACA requirements, and related regulations
- Independently solve problems and deliver accurate work under tight deadlines
- Handle additional reasonable responsibilities assigned by management
Requirements
- At least five years of applied experience in data analytics, infrastructure, or analytics engineering, including one or more years leading, managing, or mentoring technical staff
- Demonstrated dbt experience, downstream data modeling using Kimball or Data Vault approaches, cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, or Databricks, and Airflow or comparable pipeline tools
- Background optimizing data models for efficient querying
- Interest or experience in mentoring junior Analytics Engineers and establishing team best practices
- Ability to interpret the business logic of ingested data and turn it into derivative data products
- Confidence working independently on defined portions of broader initiatives
- Experience conducting detailed peer reviews and strong command of version control tools such as Git
- Ability to obtain and retain a Federal Public Trust security clearance
- U.S. citizenship or U.S. residency for at least three of the past five years, totaling 36 of the past 60 months
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
