Actuarial Analyst - Humana (Remote, United States)
Support pricing, rate filings, benefit implementation, and profitability analysis for Humana’s U.S. healthcare insurance products in a remote actuarial role.
Description
- Develop pricing assumptions for healthcare insurance products
- Prepare and submit bids
- File premium rates and rate certifications with regulatory agencies for approval
- Support the implementation of rates, new plans, and benefit changes
- Advise Product Development on the cost effects of proposed products and benefits
- Create and maintain tools for pricing standard and custom benefits
- Set market-level financial metrics that support segment profitability objectives
- Evaluate business results and financial projections
- Recommend pricing actions to close gaps against targeted performance
- Use market projections and experience-data tools to identify root causes and actionable insights
- Monitor and assess the competitive landscape
- Partner with Sales and other market-support teams to develop profitable membership growth strategies
- Complete actuarial certifications for rate filings, including attestations of compliance with state and federal rating and benefit regulations
- Set work methods and priorities while operating within established direction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least one actuarial exam completed successfully
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement, including identifying automation and process-streamlining opportunities, improving efficiency, and adapting to change
- Ability to work a schedule aligned with the Eastern Time Zone
- Home internet service with minimum download speeds of 25 Mbps and upload speeds of 10 Mbps
- Dedicated home workspace without ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI and HIPAA information
