Senior Principal Scientist, Breast Cancer Clinical Research
Lead clinical research and drug development programs focused on breast cancer at Merck. Design trials, assess findings, and guide cross-functional oncology development.

- Assess preclinical and translational research to inform early clinical development plans and Investigational New Drug applications.
- Set clinical development strategies for investigational and marketed oncology medicines.
- Design clinical trials, including their operational plans and settings.
- Oversee new and ongoing clinical trials.
- Interpret and report clinical findings to inform safety and efficacy decisions, regulatory applications, study reports, and publications.
- Contribute to internal and collaborative research teams.
- Supervise Clinical Scientists conducting clinical studies.
- Work with colleagues in commercialization, regulatory affairs, statistics, and manufacturing.
- Support the Senior or Executive Director in sharing study progress and scientific perspectives.
- Track scientific advances and research methods.
- Select qualified investigators for drug development programs.
- Build working relationships with leading clinical investigators.
- Take part in scientific meetings.
- Prepare development documents, presentations, budgets, and position papers.
- Enable research partnerships with external investigators worldwide.
- Travel for company business to manage clinical research projects.
आवश्यकताएँ
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
- Industry experience or senior faculty experience in academia.
- At least three years of clinical medicine experience.
- At least three years of industry experience in drug development or biomedical research experience in academia.
- A demonstrated record of scientific scholarship and achievement.
- A strong clinical medicine record and background in biomedical research.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Board certification or eligibility in Oncology and/or Hematology is preferred.
- Prior breast cancer clinical research experience and publications are preferred.
- Relevant skills include breast cancer, clinical development, clinical judgment, clinical research, clinical trials, drug development, and oncology research.
- Applicants must reside in the United States or Puerto Rico.
- Visa sponsorship is not available.
- Travel is approximately 20–25% of the time.
- A valid driving license is not required.
