Chief Engineer - Clearance Required, Centennial Onsite
Lead technical execution for Sierra Space’s space and defense programs. Maintain technical baselines, resolve complex engineering challenges, and guide mission-critical systems.

- Lead technical direction and provide guidance for major programs
- Maintain the technical baseline for major programs
- Chair Engineering Review Boards and document changes to the requirements baseline
- Chair Failure Review Boards, resolve identified gaps, and direct root-cause corrective actions
- Oversee the design, development, testing, and verification of systems and components
- Provide cross-program advice and resolve complex multidisciplinary engineering problems
- Drive technical issue resolution and act as the final technical decision-maker for customers
- Take part in program milestone meetings and proposal development
- Collaborate with IPT Leads on work-breakdown tasking and organizational structure
- Develop and implement technical strategies across programs
- Turn technical strategy into executable plans and guide their implementation
- Engage with internal and external executive-level management
- Advance engineering practices and monitor emerging technologies
- Create technical strategies and roadmaps that support long-term organizational objectives
- Promote company values and hold others accountable
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with equivalent work experience accepted in lieu of the degree, or a master’s degree plus 14 years of experience
- Generally requires at least 16 years of related experience
- Broad multidisciplinary engineering capability and subject-matter expertise on a significant program
- Track record leading major projects, collaborating across functions, and making engineering decisions
- Experience applying first-principles thinking to plan and perform analysis throughout a program lifecycle
- Experience serving as a technical advisor on complex engineering projects
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Thorough knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and established best practices
- Ability to develop and carry out strategy across multiple programs
- Active Secret U.S. security clearance required; TS/SCI preferred
- Experience integrating propulsion systems
- Master’s or Ph.D. in engineering, aerospace, or a related field preferred
- Extensive aerospace or closely related industry experience preferred
- Experience in program management, strategic planning, executive and external stakeholder engagement, cross-functional collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical publications or patents preferred
- PE license, PMP, or relevant technical certification preferred
