Supervisor, Immigration Compliance Operations – Australia (On-site)

Lead Australian immigration compliance operations for the Department of Home Affairs, overseeing detention, visa decision-making and enforcement teams. Help uphold the integrity of Australia’s migration system through statutory and operational leadership.

Tavsif

  • Apply the Migration Act 1958 (Cth) and related powers to support immigration compliance
  • Act as a delegate under the Migration Act 1958 (Cth), including exercising statutory powers to detain non-citizens
  • Manage caseloads involving persons of interest across community and prison settings
  • Use delegated and statutory powers to detain UNCs and grant, cancel or refuse visas
  • Lead operational teams carrying out immigration enforcement activities
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with visa conditions, employer and labour hire intermediary obligations, and migrant-worker sponsorship requirements

Talablar

  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, the Migration Act 1958 (Cth) and associated legislation and regulations
  • A strong work ethic, determination, adaptability and professional approach
  • Capacity to contribute to and lead high-performing teams in a complex legislative environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to obtain certification for working with children or vulnerable people
  • Willingness to work outside standard hours, on shifts or through on-call arrangements
  • Ability to undertake extended periods of domestic travel
  • Some roles may require holding or obtaining a Use of Force permit
  • Australian citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance
  • ABF Workers must obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC)
  • Home Affairs Workers must obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check; an ESC may also be required
