- Maintain Microsoft SQL Server production environments.
- Track database health, performance, availability, and capacity.
- Resolve database issues and assist with production incidents.
- Tune queries and enhance database performance.
- Manage backups, recovery, security, permissions, and access.
- Assist with database deployments, releases, schema changes, and migrations.
- Review T-SQL, database updates, and migration scripts.
- Take part in pull request reviews and encourage sound database practices.
- Partner with developers on database design and performance.
- Support high availability and disaster recovery processes.
- Work with DevOps teams to improve deployments and CI/CD.
- Help develop database monitoring, observability, and automation.
- Keep documentation, procedures, and runbooks up to date.
- Improve how databases are operated, monitored, and managed.
Talablar
- At least three years’ experience in database administration, database engineering, or a similar role.
- Practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server in production.
- Strong T-SQL skills.
- Sound knowledge of performance tuning and database troubleshooting.
- Experience with backups, recovery, and database security.
- Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery concepts.
- Experience supporting database deployments and schema changes.
- Familiarity with source control, pull requests, and CI/CD.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Clear communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferred: Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
- Preferred: Experience with AWS or another cloud platform.
- Preferred: Exposure to Grafana or comparable monitoring tools.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Terraform and infrastructure as code.
- Preferred: Experience with database automation.
- Preferred: Experience in a DataOps or DevOps environment.
- Preferred: Experience working with Development and Architecture teams on database performance and design.
