Staff Software Engineer, Marketing and Customer Platforms

Lead the design and delivery of scalable Java and cloud platforms supporting Walmart’s marketing, advertising, and customer engagement worldwide. Shape architecture and technical decisions across teams building customer acquisition, identity, payments, and post-order systems.

Descriere

  • Lead software design, development, implementation, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Walmart engineering teams across regions, sharing expertise and contributing to the technical community.
  • Partner with Product Management and business teams to set priorities and deliver products.
  • Design and build improved processes and technical solutions for strategic initiatives.
  • Work with architects and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet quality, cost, and delivery goals within architectural guidelines.
  • Develop high- and low-level designs with engineering teams, lead design discussions, and make technical decisions.
  • Build next-generation platforms for marketing, ad delivery, and customer engagement across countries.
  • Develop platforms for customer acquisition and re-engagement, including core systems for account identity and authentication, customer profiles, payments, and post-order experiences.

Cerințe

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field, plus 4 years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, 6 years of software engineering or related experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience designing and developing highly scalable applications and platforms.
  • Strong foundation in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Hands-on experience building Java microservices and RESTful web services with Spring Boot, Dropwizard, or an equivalent framework.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud and microservice architectures, service registries, ELK or Splunk, virtual machines, and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with agile methods, DevOps, and CI/CD environments and tools, including Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of the development and design of at least one cloud-based project.
  • Strong practical development skills, including the ability to prototype technical solutions.
