Software Engineering Manager, X-Road (Hybrid, Estonia)
Lead engineering work on X-Road at NIIS, the organisation behind open-source digital government solutions. The role combines oversight of source code, requirements and continuous services with hands-on software development.
Descriere
- Support the CTO in overseeing X-Road source code development, verification and audits
- Maintain X-Road documentation and business and technical requirements
- Own NIIS continuous services
- Contribute directly to software development
- Collaborate with an international team building open-source digital government solutions
- Help deliver secure digital services for governments, organisations and individuals
Cerințe
- Experience working with X-Road and a broad understanding of its technology, architecture and development methods
- More than five years of software development experience
- Fluent English
- Estonian, Finnish or other language skills are an advantage
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Able to understand both the overall picture and technical details
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to communicate effectively with developers and management
- Good knowledge of software development processes and DevOps practices and tools
- Agile development experience and willingness to contribute hands-on
- Experience with open-source projects
- Experience with distributed systems
- Experience designing and developing APIs
- Knowledge of X-Road Core and/or X-Road extensions
- Java programming experience
- Experience with Gradle and/or Maven
- Experience with Git
- Experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with Docker and/or LXD containers
- Knowledge of relational and schemaless databases, including Postgres, ORM technologies, MongoDB or DynamoDB
- Experience with SOAP/XML and REST/JSON web services
- Basic knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
- Experience with Linux-based operating systems and shell scripting
- Certifications in the listed technologies are an advantage
