Senior Utilities Operator

Operate and maintain regulated utility systems at Eli Lilly’s pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The role begins in Carmel, Indiana, before moving to the Medicine Foundry in Lebanon, with permanent 12-hour day or night shifts.

Descriere

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain assigned utility systems independently with minimal supervision.
  • Oversee systems such as high-purity water, compressed and process air, steam, chilled and heated water, glycol, cooling towers, waste streams, VOC controls, nitrogen, aqueous waste neutralization, and tank farms.
  • Keep utility work areas clean and orderly.
  • Diagnose equipment and process problems, and report findings and actions to supervisors.
  • Help develop other Operators by sharing knowledge, demonstrating procedures, and reinforcing safe work practices.
  • Suggest process improvements, identify safety issues, and raise observations with the Expert Operator or Lead Operator.
  • Work in accordance with SOPs, GMP standards, and site environmental, health, and safety protocols.
  • Keep accurate logs and records following Good Documentation Practices.
  • Start work in Carmel, Indiana, then take a permanent assignment at the Lilly Medicine Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana.
  • May take a short-term assignment at LP2 in Lebanon, Indiana, for training and support.
  • Work a permanent 12-hour day or night shift.

Cerințe

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least five years of experience in utilities, industrial operations, or mechanical operations.
  • Experience in a GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to respond to call-ins and scheduled overtime.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in winter and summer conditions and tolerate temperature changes.
  • Ability to wear respiratory equipment and work at heights when needed.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States; Lilly does not sponsor visas or provide work authorization support for this role.
  • Ability to operate utility equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, compressed air systems, or water treatment equipment with minimal direction.
  • Experience diagnosing common equipment and process issues in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in data entry, log keeping, and documentation aligned with GMP and regulatory requirements.
  • Previous experience helping train less experienced colleagues.
  • Familiarity with work order systems, CMMS platforms, or maintenance documentation tools.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement in regulated manufacturing.
  • Ability to work a fixed 12-hour shift on a 3-2-2-3 schedule.
  • Limited travel, under 10%.
