Descriere

  • Manage platform engineers through hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, professional development, and delivery.
  • Mentor engineers and build a collaborative culture centered on accountability.
  • Set standards for engineering quality, technical execution, operations, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership in architecture discussions and complex tradeoffs.
  • Set platform technical direction with senior engineers and architecture stakeholders.
  • Guide the design and implementation of foundational, distributed AWS systems spanning multiple accounts.
  • Oversee developer-facing APIs, SDKs, command-line tools, developer tooling, and managed services.
  • Lead distributed-systems work on secure cross-account communication, tenant isolation, provisioning, and lifecycle automation.
  • Create platform abstractions over underlying cloud infrastructure.
  • Guide architecture for new and evolving platform capabilities, including greenfield projects.
  • Ensure platform capabilities are scalable, secure, maintainable, and reusable across products and teams.
  • Increase platform adoption and improve developer experience through reusable capabilities, productivity improvements, a developer portal, documentation, and productized services.
  • Use stakeholder feedback to inform technical priorities and the product roadmap.
  • Oversee security, isolation, reliability, observability, monitoring, and operational visibility.
  • Establish identity and access management, isolation boundaries, least-privilege access, authenticated service communication, and secure multi-account architectures.
  • Lead on-call operations, incident response, and service-level objectives.
  • Promote automated testing, infrastructure as code, trunk-based development, and incremental, reversible releases.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Identity, Product, Solutions and Field Engineering, and platform users.
  • Turn strategic objectives into engineering roadmaps and measurable delivery milestones.
  • Keep leadership and cross-functional stakeholders informed about technical direction, progress, dependencies, and risks.
  • Coordinate across engineering teams to resolve dependencies and align architectural decisions.
  • Promote AI-assisted software development and guide AI-enabled platform capabilities involving large language models, agents, and related services.

Cerințe

  • At least 8 years of software engineering experience.
  • At least 2 years working at T3 (Staff) through T5 (Principal) engineering level.
  • At least 2 years as a technical lead or engineering manager.
  • Experience shipping, operating, and supporting production software systems.
  • Ability to hire, coach, mentor, and develop engineers at different experience levels.
  • Experience building an engineering culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership while overseeing delivery, people development, and operational responsibilities.
  • Strong foundation in AWS cloud-native architecture and distributed systems.
  • Ability to engage deeply on system architecture, review technical designs critically, and make informed architectural tradeoffs.
  • Experience in platform engineering, developer tooling, SDKs, infrastructure, or similar teams building foundational capabilities for engineers.
  • Strong understanding of secure multi-account and multi-tenant cloud architectures.
  • Fluency in cloud identity and access management, tenant isolation, and security requirements for distributed cloud systems.
  • Understanding of architectural and operational needs for scalable, secure, reliable shared platforms.
  • Familiarity with modern AI development toolkits and AI-assisted engineering workflows, including coding assistants and agentic development tools.
  • Understanding of how to incorporate AI capabilities, including large language models, agents, and related services, into modular platform components.
  • Ability to help engineers adopt AI-assisted development practices while maintaining engineering quality.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills across Engineering, Product, Architecture, and Go-to-Market teams.
  • Ability to explain complex technical decisions, architectural tradeoffs, delivery progress, and risks to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to influence technical direction and coordinate delivery across teams with competing priorities.
  • Experience with or familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS platforms, cross-account control planes, internal developer platforms, TypeScript, Node.js, Terraform, serverless technologies, container services, managed data stores, cloud security primitives, reusable APIs, SDKs, command-line tools, developer portals, shared platform services, platform adoption, provisioning and lifecycle automation, secure cross-account communication, multi-tenant infrastructure, trunk-based development, infrastructure as code, automated testing, incremental reversible releases, and operationally complex or data-intensive industries.
