R&D Semiconductor Device Engineer – Sherman, Texas (Onsite)

Develop and qualify III-V optoelectronic devices at Coherent’s Sherman site. Lead epitaxial design, wafer-fab integration, testing, modeling, and manufacturing transfer for high-volume production.

Descriere

  • Lead semiconductor device programs from initial concept through production transfer
  • Translate product-roadmap needs into device technology requirements with product management
  • Design and model epitaxial structures while coordinating development, sourcing, and testing with epi engineering
  • Set unit-process requirements and integrate wafer-fabrication flows with process integration teams
  • Develop test structures and layouts for fabricating and evaluating emerging device technologies
  • Conduct DC, small-signal RF, and optical measurements; build test plans and interpret characterization data
  • Establish design rules that improve process margins and support strong product yields
  • Partner with quality teams to define and satisfy device reliability requirements
  • Evaluate device behavior at the product level and drive enhancements with product engineering
  • Prepare manufacturing-transfer records covering verification results, corner studies, test plans, process controls, and device fingerprints
  • Collaborate with modeling specialists to develop simulation and product-development models
  • Contribute to ongoing yield and device-performance improvement initiatives

Cerințe

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline plus at least five years of relevant semiconductor-development experience
  • Ph.D. in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred, with at least two years of industry experience
  • Advanced knowledge of III-V devices and materials spanning device physics, TCAD, fabrication, testing, and modeling
  • Demonstrated success taking III-V optoelectronic devices from concept through production
  • Experience with new product introduction or product lifecycle management processes
  • Practical experience using equipment and methods for DC, small-signal RF, and optical characterization
  • Ability to design and simulate epitaxial structures
  • Working knowledge of wafer-fab design rules and process integration
  • Understanding of device reliability requirements and quality processes
  • Background evaluating and improving device performance with product engineering teams
  • Track record of effective collaboration across functional disciplines
  • Strong capabilities in problem solving, critical thinking, risk management, communication, planning, and organization
  • High self-direction supported by a broad multidisciplinary engineering background
  • Comfort using computers and standard office equipment regularly
  • Ability to follow site environmental, health, and safety procedures and corporate EHS standards
