Head of Technology — Hybrid in Spain

Descriere

  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to the development team
  • Set priorities for stability, reliability, scalability, performance, and security
  • Lead product and technology roadmap planning by evaluating feasibility, risks, and trade-offs
  • Reduce technical debt and deliver targeted system improvements
  • Track technology developments and introduce relevant tools, practices, and methods
  • Build and manage a high-performing technology organization
  • Promote accountability and clearly communicate the team’s vision, goals, roles, and responsibilities
  • Create and execute a technology strategy aligned with business objectives
  • Spot opportunities for innovation and guide new product and feature development
  • Own technology budgets and plans, including cost-benefit analysis
  • Partner across functions to understand business requirements and team objectives
  • Select and deploy AWS cloud solutions that support growth, cost efficiency, and security
  • Establish governance for AWS architecture, usage, and operating processes
  • Set and monitor quality standards, security policies, and system governance practices
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulations
  • Define and sustain scalable, secure, and dependable technology architecture
  • Bring innovative perspectives to product planning and design
  • Oversee systems and infrastructure design and delivery with a focus on stability, reliability, best practices, and strong code coverage

Cerințe

  • At least 7 years of software development experience, including previous CTO or comparable technology leadership experience
  • Advanced PHP expertise, ideally with the Laravel framework
  • Production experience applying Clean or Hexagonal Architecture
  • At least 5 years of professional web development experience across multiple languages, particularly PHP/Laravel and JavaScript
  • Advanced JavaScript and TypeScript skills
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Web Components, such as Lit 3.0 or a comparable technology
  • Practical experience working with Node.js and its ecosystem
  • Strong MySQL experience in multi-tenant environments; PostgreSQL experience is advantageous
  • Experience designing or operating fine-grained authorization models such as RBAC, ReBAC, or ABAC is advantageous
  • Experience integrating third-party services, including Microsoft Graph API, Google APIs, AWS, Stripe, and PayPal
  • Domain-Driven Design and Agile experience is desirable
  • Ability to lead teams that use AI-assisted development workflows as a core practice
  • Previous experience building and scaling highly available SaaS and PaaS platforms
  • Ability to shape and deliver a long-term technology strategy tied to business objectives
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and people-leadership skills
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is valued
