Human Spaceflight Engineer

Support The Aerospace Corporation’s NASA human spaceflight programs by defining operational requirements, assessing readiness, and integrating Artemis transportation and lunar operations.

  • Connect exploration workstreams spanning lunar operations, nuclear power, science, and Artemis transportation in the program office.
  • Define operational technical requirements across programs.
  • Assess program readiness and evaluate mission preparedness.
  • Work with NASA mission architects, designers, and experts across government and industry.
  • Check contractor deliverables and NASA requirements for compliance and system effectiveness.
  • Help develop standards and documentation for exploration operations.
  • Oversee key program plans and deliverables.
  • Contribute to facility and infrastructure planning.
  • Take part in technical, safety, and integration working groups.
  • Prepare technical and progress reports for internal teams and external partners.
  • Support technical interchange meetings, hardware reviews, and major design milestones.
  • Create clear, actionable reports and presentations for program offices.

Prasības

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related STEM field.
  • At least one year of progressively responsible engineering or scientific experience, including systems engineering and work in a program lifecycle environment.
  • Entry-level experience with human exploration architecture, integration, and mission operations.
  • Understanding of the engineering program lifecycle.
  • Initiative and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and recommendations verbally and in writing to technical and management audiences.
  • Ability to work across diverse teams and engineering disciplines, including human-in-the-loop disciplines.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance may be required.
