Fractional Financial Controller, Inventory Business — Milan Hybrid

ERG Media seeks a fractional controller to manage inventory finance across multiple entities and currencies. The role covers monthly close, reconciliations, COGS, profitability reporting, and cash forecasting.

Apraksts

  • Lead the group’s monthly close, setting clear cut-offs and prioritizing intercompany reconciliations.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, cards, Shopify and Stripe payouts, while overseeing payables, receivables, and expense controls across entities and currencies.
  • Manage inventory valuation, landed costs, and cost of goods sold for book print runs and retail stock.
  • Reconcile costs from third-party warehouses and wholesale partners.
  • Prepare project and client profitability reports for creative work, including production, travel, and freelance costs.
  • Provide the COO and founder with a monthly management pack covering cash and liquidity forecasts.
  • Maintain the group chart of accounts and cost-centre structure.
  • Support the selection of reporting and consolidation tools.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external accountants and regional tax advisers.
  • Keep the scope of work for external advisers focused and clearly defined.
  • Identify anomalies, margin changes, and cash-conversion concerns early.

Prasības

  • Formal accountancy qualification or training, such as dottore commercialista, ACCA, CPA, ACA, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience as a financial controller or finance manager.
  • Practical finance experience in an inventory-based business involving physical products, COGS, and third-party logistics.
  • Experience managing multiple entities and currencies, including intercompany reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with modern cloud accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Fluent English.
  • Italian language skills are a strong advantage.
  • Discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential financial information.
  • Experience in professional services or a creative agency is a plus.
  • Experience with Shopify and payment providers such as Stripe, PayPal, or Wise is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Dutch or Italian GAAP, or US LLC or Japanese GK reporting through advisers, is a plus.
  • A Partita IVA or independent consultant structure is a plus.
