Senior I&C Engineer – CANDU Nuclear Systems, Mississauga

Design CANDU nuclear instrumentation and control systems for AtkinsRéalis projects in Mississauga. Support engineering, procurement, commissioning, field execution, and regulatory requirements across Canadian nuclear programs.

Aprašymas

  • Execute engineering activities in accordance with AtkinsRéalis and Candu Energy procedures, quality programs, applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs for CANDU instrumentation and control systems and modifications
  • Establish system functional and performance requirements, control algorithms, logic, wiring arrangements, parameters, setpoints, instrument ranges, and environmental and seismic qualifications
  • Specify, size, and select I&C equipment and prepare the associated technical documentation
  • Create and maintain I&C design documents, analyses, assessments, and design-basis documentation
  • Contribute to I&C drawings, including general arrangements, instrument loops, wiring and connection diagrams, and bills of materials
  • Provide and maintain wiring and technical design information in computerized wiring systems
  • Prepare equipment and material requisitions and Engineering Quotation Requests
  • Collaborate with clients, suppliers, stakeholders, and other engineering disciplines
  • Present technical information to clients and project stakeholders
  • Guide and instruct Designers and Drafters on technical matters
  • Develop scopes of work and contribute technical content to bid proposals
  • Conduct field walk-downs and document the results in walkdown reports
  • Support construction and field execution, including field changes, design revisions, commissioning, AFS, and project closeout
  • Address technical questions from design review teams and regulatory authorities
  • Deliver assigned work within approved budget, schedule, and quality parameters
  • Develop engineering solutions for critical technical issues

Reikalavimai

  • A relevant engineering degree from an accredited university, or an equivalent qualification recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario
  • Seven to twelve years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience at an operating nuclear power station or comparable facility is an asset
  • Construction or commissioning experience with electrical systems in nuclear or other heavy industries is an asset
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and control functions, configurations, and equipment used in CANDU process, safety, or safety-related systems, or comparable systems in other industries, is an asset
  • Familiarity with industrial or nuclear quality programs and applicable CSA, IEEE, or related I&C engineering codes and standards is an asset
  • Knowledge of OPG and/or BP engineering change control processes, standards, and procedures is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Sound technical judgment and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to qualify as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW)
  • Foundational technical expertise for resolving engineering issues and technical problems
  • Strong technical writing and communication capabilities
  • Professional communication skills when working with colleagues, clients, and contractors
