Cisco Tax Analyst
Support Cisco’s US sales and use tax compliance through filings, reconciliations, audits, research, and process improvements. The role also coordinates business license renewals and works with teams across the company.

- Prepare, review, and file monthly and quarterly state and local sales and use tax returns.
- Reconcile tax accounts each month.
- Gather, reconcile, and analyze sales and purchase data from enterprise ERP and billing systems.
- Process tax payments accurately.
- Draft responses to state and local tax notices and compile supporting documents.
- Coordinate timely business license filings and renewals across state and local jurisdictions.
- Help prepare and file corporate annual reports.
- Maintain a central compliance calendar and tracking system.
- Research state and local taxability rules, rate changes, and compliance obligations.
- Help assess tax implications of new business initiatives, products, and operational changes.
- Summarize regulatory updates for the internal team.
- Compile invoices and audit records to support external state sales and use tax audits.
- Document tax workflows and standard operating procedures.
- Identify opportunities to automate indirect tax processes and improve efficiency.
- Work with Corporate Accounting, Financial Systems, Legal, external advisors, and state tax authorities.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, or a related business field.
- 3–4 years of experience in corporate tax, public accounting, or US indirect tax.
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and US indirect tax concepts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP or other data reconciliation formulas.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to draft agency responses and explain tax concepts to cross-functional partners.
- Ability to manage complex compliance deadlines with close attention to detail.
