Virtual Medical Biller – Billing Support Specialist | Philippines Remote

Handle U.S. orthopedic billing for Han Orthopaedics, including insurance verification, authorizations, claims, and accounts receivable. Maintain accurate eClinicalWorks records while meeting HIPAA requirements.

Description

  • Confirm patient insurance coverage and identify any prior authorization needs
  • Assemble clinical records, submit authorization requests, and track them through approval
  • Record authorization numbers and expiration dates in eClinicalWorks before patient visits
  • Review A/R aging and pursue unpaid, underpaid, denied, or delayed claims with commercial and government payors
  • Post insurance ERAs/EOBs and patient payments, including itemized payments, contractual adjustments, and deductibles
  • Scrub and file primary and secondary insurance claims
  • Investigate clearinghouse and payor rejections, correcting coding or demographic issues before resubmission
  • Prepare denial appeals and corrected claims
  • Clear outstanding balances and keep eClinicalWorks billing records accurate
  • Follow HIPAA standards and safeguard patient financial information

Requirements

  • At least three years of hands-on U.S. medical billing experience across verification, prior authorizations, A/R, payment posting, and claims
  • Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding, modifier use, and medical terminology
  • Strong ability to review EOBs and ERAs, manage denials, and use commercial payor portals
  • Highly detail-oriented, proactive, dependable, and comfortable working independently with limited supervision
  • Excellent written and spoken English plus thorough knowledge of HIPAA requirements
  • A private HIPAA-compliant workspace with a high-performance computer, primary high-speed internet, backup power and internet, and a headset
  • Recent practical experience with eClinicalWorks billing, eligibility, authorization, payment posting, and A/R modules is strongly preferred
  • Orthopedic billing experience and surgical or diagnostic authorization experience are strongly preferred
