Technical Chief of Staff, CTO and CSO Office – Quandela
Quandela is seeking a Technical Chief of Staff to support its CTO and CSO in France in a hybrid, full-time role. The position coordinates research, engineering, product, and strategic initiatives within a photonic quantum computing company.
Description
- Help the CTO/CPO and CSO define, organize, and advance technical and scientific priorities.
- Develop strategic documents, technical briefings, and materials for leadership reviews.
- Translate complex technical subjects into clear insights that support executive decisions.
- Establish operating processes and coordination practices for the CTO and CSO Office.
- Coordinate preparation, execution, and follow-up for technical leadership meetings, reviews, and strategic forums.
- Keep research, engineering, and product leaders aligned on shared priorities.
- Monitor delivery of major technical and scientific programs.
- Surface progress against milestones, interdependencies, and potential risks.
- Connect teams and help remove obstacles that span organizational boundaries.
- Refine the processes and communication channels used by technical and research operations.
- Keep exploratory scientific work connected to product-development priorities.
- Lead or coordinate significant cross-functional programs on behalf of the CTO/CPO and CSO.
- Deliver analytical and operational assistance on complex technical and organizational matters.
- Unify research, product, and engineering stakeholders, reinforce the CTO and CSO Office, and help expand the technical organization.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience as a Chief of Staff, Technical Program Manager, strategy or operations professional in deep-tech organizations, or technology consultant.
- Experience in research-led environments, advanced-technology companies, or deep-tech startups is strongly preferred.
- An MSc or PhD in physics, computer science, or a related technical discipline is required.
- A combined background in engineering or science and business, management, or project management is a strong advantage.
- Exceptional ability to structure information and synthesize complex material.
- Strong program and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively with senior scientists and engineers.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Highly organized and proactive approach.
- Strong ownership and discretion.
- Comfort working in highly technical settings.
- Ability to navigate complex organizations and changing priorities.
