Technical Architect – Meter-to-Cash Solutions (US Remote)

Design and deliver Meter-to-Cash solutions for Origin’s utility clients using Oracle Utilities environments. Support SaaS platform architecture and operations while expanding responsibility for infrastructure and client issue resolution.

Description

  • Design and deliver technical solutions across Origin’s technology ecosystem
  • Lead technical workstreams and ensure assigned tasks reach completion
  • Convert functional requirements into technical specifications, integration patterns, and configuration approaches
  • Perform hands-on development, configuration, and technical troubleshooting
  • Identify and resolve technical gaps throughout the project lifecycle
  • Address complex technical challenges with practical, scalable solutions
  • Apply Meter-to-Cash, CIS, edge-system, and integration expertise to utility client projects
  • Join design reviews, technical assessments, and cross-functional technical discussions
  • Act as a trusted technical subject-matter expert for client stakeholders
  • Set expectations for scope, timelines, and feasibility while escalating risks appropriately
  • Provide technical input for proposals, estimates, and change requests
  • Develop knowledge of and support Origin’s SaaS platform architecture, operating processes, and support model
  • Assist senior architects with platform documentation, maintenance, and operational troubleshooting
  • Advance knowledge transfer, process transparency, shared technical ownership, and resilience against single points of failure
  • Help resolve platform-related client issues under senior technical direction
  • Take on progressively greater ownership of platform components
  • Mentor junior team members, review deliverables, and share reusable solution patterns

Requirements

  • Must be based in the United States
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience administering Linux-based operating systems, including Oracle Linux, RHEL, or CentOS
  • Experience administering, troubleshooting, and deploying Windows Server and Workstation environments
  • Proficiency with Shell and Batch scripting
  • Proficiency with WLST scripting, SQL, and PL/SQL for configuration and automation
  • Experience installing, configuring, patching, and maintaining OUAF applications such as CC&B, MDM, C2M, and CCS, along with Oracle WebLogic, GoldenGate, Linux, and middleware components
  • Practical experience using monitoring and security tools such as Datadog
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Database 19c and MongoDB for administration, query execution, schema review, and troubleshooting
  • Experience defining non-functional requirements, including performance, load and stress testing, failover and disaster-recovery testing, and batch tuning
  • Capability to validate non-functional requirements and confirm environment readiness
  • Ability to create clear, audit-ready procedural, operational, and deployment documentation
  • Working knowledge of Oracle WebLogic integration patterns, Oracle Utilities integration frameworks, and environment connectivity considerations
  • At least six years of related experience and/or training
  • Experience developing, implementing, and supporting solutions in utility technology environments
  • Strong understanding of Meter-to-Cash processes and CIS integration patterns
  • Consistent execution of technical tasks with strong follow-through and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and functional teams
  • Four-year degree in computer science, information technology, computer systems, or a related discipline
  • Preferred experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Identity Cloud Service, Docker, Oracle Kubernetes Engine, Oracle SOA Suite, SGG/MDM/OSB, Direct Integration, FWPIP Integration, Jaspersoft, Jenkins, SFTPgo, Java, COBOL, enterprise monitoring, observability, and security platforms
  • Familiarity with Origin’s proprietary technologies is preferred
