Software Engineer (.NET/Azure) – Panama Hybrid

Build, test, and improve Azure-based applications and REST APIs as part of an agile software engineering team in Panama. The role focuses on performance, system reliability, technical problem-solving, and collaboration.

Description

  • Develop, test, and deploy new software applications
  • Maintain existing software, recommend improvements, and optimize functionality
  • Make informed technical decisions to address business needs
  • Keep current with relevant technology and industry developments
  • Apply software engineering best practices consistently
  • Identify ways to improve system performance and application availability
  • Resolve complex technical design problems
  • Assess user requirements and convert them into design documentation
  • Prepare accurate, comprehensive documentation and reports on schedule
  • Communicate clearly with management and technical support teams
  • Work with experienced colleagues on root-cause analysis, code reviews, and unit testing
  • Lead root-cause analysis for system-related issues
  • Coordinate multiple assignments and competing priorities
  • Work independently when the situation requires it
  • Support and advise less experienced team members when needed

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in C#, .NET 4, React, Node.js, MVC 4, Entity Framework, LINQ, nUnit/xUnit, Moq, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, and Bootstrap-based CSS
  • Working knowledge of authentication and identity standards, including OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, and OAuth 2.0
  • Experience with DevOps practices and workflows, including Scrum, Git Flow, CI/CD, and software deployments
  • Strong Azure SQL Server development skills covering relational database design, T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, and performance tuning
  • Understanding of Microsoft cloud development services, including Azure Web Apps and Azure Functions
  • Practical experience creating, maintaining, and versioning REST APIs
  • Solid grasp of software development methods, object-oriented programming, database design, and application development
  • Experience using MVC, Factory, dependency injection, and unit-testing design patterns
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Preferred experience includes Microsoft Azure DevOps, Azure API Management, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Search or Elasticsearch, Azure Service Bus or comparable message brokers, Application Insights or similar logging tools, and Redis or Memcached
  • Relevant university degree or strong academic background in a related discipline
  • Demonstrated software development ability and a record of delivering results in a fast-changing environment
