- Set technical direction for data pipelines and data-sharing capabilities across business lines.
- Advance engineering practices, delivery speed, platform scalability, operational excellence, performance, and resilience.
- Increase awareness and adoption of modern technologies.
- Champion engineering excellence, solution reuse, and innersourcing.
- Communicate with and influence stakeholders throughout the enterprise.
- Provide guidance across technology, platform, and capability domains.
- Mentor internal employees and help recruit external talent.
- Evaluate emerging developments in data, AI, and engineering and create an integration roadmap.
- Lead strategic alignment and integration decisions across data systems and business units.
- Maintain data strategy documentation, governance policies, architecture blueprints, and data product roadmaps.
- Design and implement critical data initiatives while shaping architectural standards.
- Work hands-on with AWS, lakehouse architecture, Kafka, Flink, Spark, Snowflake, Databricks, Python, SQL, Java, and Scala.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related quantitative discipline, such as statistics, economics, operations research, analytics, mathematics, or engineering.
- At least 9 years of experience in data engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in data architecture.
- At least 3 years of experience building applications on AWS.
- At least 7 years of programming experience with Python, Java, or Scala.
- At least 6 years of experience designing and developing data pipelines.
- At least 4 years of experience in data modeling and end-to-end data solution design using relational and non-relational databases.
- A master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline is preferred.
- More than 11 years of experience in data engineering is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes ontology standards, machine learning model deployment, public cloud, distributed data or compute workloads, real-time or streaming pipelines, observability or orchestration tools, NoSQL, data warehousing, Agile development, and reusable data products.
