Senior Software Engineer, AI Security at Akamai Technologies

Build AI security controls and cloud-native microservices for Akamai’s enterprise security products. Develop endpoint enforcement and AI-powered capabilities across SaaS, desktop applications, and AI agents.

Description

  • Create security controls that identify and manage shadow AI, generative AI, and AI agents across SaaS and desktop applications.
  • Take ownership of a mission-critical cloud-native microservices architecture protecting millions of workspaces worldwide.
  • Maintain high availability and reliability across enterprise cloud services.
  • Build endpoint enforcement features, including operating-system components for Akamai’s endpoint agent.
  • Use AI frameworks and development tools to deliver AI-powered security capabilities.
  • Contribute across the stack, from OS components and cloud backend services to the React management console.
  • Partner with DevOps, Product Management, and security specialists.
  • Release secure, scalable software rapidly, multiple times each day.

Requirements

  • At least four years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in at least one of Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Rust.
  • Practical experience with data modeling and relational databases.
  • Experience designing complex data pipelines and high-throughput systems with event-streaming technologies such as Kafka.
  • Experience developing cloud-native microservices on AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
  • Experience creating security products or client-side software that runs on end-user devices.
