Senior Software Architect, Nokia (Hybrid)

Shape cloud-native, AI-enabled element management systems for Nokia’s autonomous telecom networks. Lead software architecture, multi-agent pipelines, and AI-assisted delivery.

Description

  • Translate business, customer, system, and network-element needs into scalable software requirements, solutions, and product architectures.
  • Design and evolve element management system architecture, including APIs, interfaces, microservices, data flows, containers, Kubernetes or OpenShift, and cloud-native deployments.
  • Lead hands-on development, prototyping, code and design reviews, debugging, performance tuning, and complex root-cause investigations.
  • Build and improve multi-agent pipelines and agent harnesses, covering agent roles, iterative planning and execution, context, tools, skills, memory, orchestration, validation, recovery, observability, and human approval.
  • Expand AI-enabled software delivery across requirements, specifications, design, coding, reviews, testing, troubleshooting, defect fixes, documentation, and releases.
  • Refine agent prompts, workflows, test harnesses, and validation using observed performance and failure patterns.
  • Guide technology modernization and engineering collaboration, promoting Java, Spring Boot, microservices, containers, Kubernetes, OpenShift, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • Mentor teams and work with product, architecture, platform, verification, productization, and network-element stakeholders.
  • Advance telecommunications software and engineering practices for autonomous network management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in software architecture, requirements analysis, design, development, and troubleshooting for large-scale distributed systems.
  • Expertise in Java, Python, Kubernetes, APIs, CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud-native architecture.
  • Practical experience building multi-agent solutions, agent squads or swarms, and orchestrated pipelines.
  • Knowledge of agent harness engineering, including context management, tool integration, skills and rules, memory, planning, critic or reviewer patterns, observability, error handling, validation, and human-in-the-loop controls.
  • Experience connecting agentic workflows to source repositories, issue trackers, code reviews, build pipelines, test environments, knowledge bases, and engineering tools.
  • Ability to make pipelines repeatable, testable, idempotent, secure, traceable, and scalable.
  • Telecommunications OSS, EMS, NMS, network management, element management, or related telecom software experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of OpenShift, Kafka, Helm, GitOps, and Kubernetes Operators is preferred.
  • Experience with specification-driven development, RAG workflows, knowledge-base creation, automated defect triage and fixing, code migration, CI pipeline analysis, and lab-integrated testing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Responsible AI practices is preferred.
