Senior PIP Claims Examiner
Evaluate coverage, reserves, and settlements for PIP claims at Philadelphia Insurance Companies. Investigate claims and coordinate with claimants, customers, mediators, and legal parties.
Description
- Review insurance claims to determine the insurer’s obligations.
- Resolve claims with first-party claimants according to policy terms and applicable law.
- Assess each claim based on the available facts.
- Confirm or deny coverage.
- Investigate claims to establish appropriate reserves.
- Resolve or deny claims fairly and promptly.
- Communicate with relevant parties and document discussions and investigation findings.
- Attend customer service calls, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
- At least five years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- For employees in good standing with excellent claim audit scores, at least three years of PIC-related experience and an AIC designation will be considered.
- Strong understanding of coverage, policy terms, and conditions across broad insurance areas, products, or special contracts.
- Ability to travel for customer service calls, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
