Senior Nitinol Engineering Technician – Onsite

Heraeus Medevio is seeking a senior engineering technician to support Nitinol process development and commercialization in a regulated medical technology manufacturing environment. The role focuses on equipment, tooling, documentation, process optimization, and production support.

Description

  • Deliver advanced hands-on technical support for engineering and process development initiatives with limited engineering oversight.
  • Act as the technical authority for equipment, tooling, and manufacturing process setup.
  • Prepare equipment, tooling, and processes for scalable, sustained manufacturing operations.
  • Use structured problem-solving and critical analysis to develop process strategies and address complex technical issues.
  • Base technical decisions on relevant data and analysis.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing and process documentation, including work instructions, setup sheets, certification checklists, visual aids, and related materials.
  • Define and record process windows, controls, and critical operating parameters.
  • Help move new products and technologies from development into production.
  • Train and coach manufacturing employees.
  • Improve processes, tooling, and production results through controlled, documented changes.
  • Use ERP, SPC, and related systems to support engineering work, manufacturing coordination, scheduling, and shipments.
  • Provide technical assistance to Sales, customers, and cross-functional partners.
  • Train and mentor technicians and other team members.
  • Follow established quality systems, process-change procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Provide support to other departments when needed.
  • Complete additional assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A two-year technical degree is strongly preferred.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, or process development is required.
  • Strongly preferred experience with Nitinol and stainless-steel post-processing, including chemical processing, heat setting, micro-blasting, or electropolishing.
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing, preferably medical device or OEM production.
  • Experience using ERP, SPC, and manufacturing documentation systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to support complex projects through commercialization.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple technical priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to positive customer and stakeholder experiences.
  • Participation in E-Verify employment eligibility confirmation is required after hire.
