Senior Accounting Manager at Workiva (US Remote)

Lead Workiva’s global statutory reporting and general ledger functions as a senior accounting manager. Oversee accounting teams, close governance, technical accounting, and collaboration across finance and business functions.

Description

  • Oversee annual statutory reporting for multiple international entities
  • Coordinate US GAAP-to-local-GAAP adjustments, financial statements, and regulatory filings
  • Manage and develop accountants across full-time and contractor roles
  • Review month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close deliverables for key balance sheet accounts
  • Evaluate account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analyses
  • Produce monthly management reports, analytics, and executive presentations for Finance leadership
  • Assess complex local-GAAP transactions and collaborate with Technical Accounting on US GAAP conclusions
  • Advise Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, Accounts Payable, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and other business partners
  • Improve close processes and governance through automation and AI-enabled tools
  • Communicate close outcomes, significant accounting matters, and statutory reporting progress to management
  • Create, maintain, and enhance accounting policies and process documentation
  • Lead ad hoc initiatives and cross-functional projects, including system improvements and new-entity onboarding
  • Report to the Director of General Ledger Accounting

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline
  • At least eight years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with publicly traded companies
  • Three years of direct people-management experience
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • Public accounting and industry experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and local GAAP across operational and technical accounting
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, or overseeing financial statements and statutory reports
  • Experience working with local auditors across multiple jurisdictions
  • Technical accounting experience covering debt, investments, prepaids, intangibles, and fixed assets
  • Strong grasp of general accounting principles and internal controls
  • Proficiency with accounting and financial systems such as Sage Intacct, BlackLine, BNA, Coupa, Workday, and Workiva
  • Advanced computer skills, including Google or Microsoft Office and spreadsheet-based data analysis
  • Experience working in a global environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, processes, and deadlines under pressure
  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and critical-thinking abilities
  • High degree of integrity
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% for internal events and team meetings
  • Reliable internet access when working remotely outside a Workiva office
