Senior Manager, Trade Compliance Programs

Lead international trade compliance for a smart home manufacturing business, overseeing customs, export classifications, free trade agreements, and duty savings. Partner across supply chain, engineering, and legal teams.

Description

  • Lead international trade compliance programs, with a focus on the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
  • Oversee customs and export classifications, customs valuation, duty analytics, origin determinations, and free trade agreement qualifications and certificates.
  • Develop strategies to reduce duties and strengthen customs and export compliance standards.
  • Translate complex customs rules into scalable operating programs in partnership with supply chain, engineering, and legal teams.
  • Manage HTS and ECCN assignments, document defensible classification rationales, and prepare for customs audits and CCATS.
  • Develop and audit free trade agreement qualification strategies, coordinate supplier outreach, validate origin determinations, and pursue duty savings.
  • Maintain compliance in ERP and global trade platforms, including SAP, Trade Flow, and Thomson Reuters, with integrated HTS, ECCN, and COO data.
  • Address risks related to Sections 122, 232, and 301 tariffs, AD/CVD duties, and denied-party screening.
  • Review and adjust screening requirements and tools.
  • Set global trade strategy, establish internal controls and KPIs, and coordinate with third-party customs brokers.
  • Report to the General Counsel for Supply Chain.

Requirements

  • Bring at least seven years of progressive experience in international trade, customs brokerage, or supply chain.
  • Have a strong command of the Harmonized Tariff System (HTS), U.S. Customs Regulations (19 CFR), and USMCA origin rules.
  • Have working knowledge and experience with ECCN classification, CCATS, and BIS regulations.
  • A U.S. Customs Broker License and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is valued.
  • Experience in a multinational, matrixed organization is valued.
  • Spanish and English bilingual ability is valued.
  • Strong analytical skills are valued.
  • Expertise with trade systems, analytics tools, and emerging technologies is valued.
  • A record of building high-performing teams is valued.
  • Electronics and software experience is valued.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is valued.
  • This role is not eligible for U.S. visa sponsorship.
