Description

  • Design and deliver documented software solutions for Thales customers
  • Build quality components and applications within an agile development process
  • Define use cases and user stories, then assign them to functional components
  • Provide technical support to engineers and communicate with management
  • Develop proofs of concept for new ideas, technologies, and architecture approaches
  • Review code against the established software architecture
  • Apply approved architectures and recommended design patterns during implementation
  • Lead and mentor junior and intermediate engineers in software design and development
  • Coordinate technical discussions among stakeholders
  • Follow security requirements and submit required management reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field
  • At least five years of hands-on experience developing complex Java UI applications with Eclipse RCP, JFace, and JavaFX
  • Extensive knowledge of technologies for developing standalone applications
  • Experience designing software architecture
  • Working knowledge of software design patterns and SOLID object-oriented principles
  • Proficiency in Design Thinking
  • Broad understanding and practical use of software design patterns
  • Hands-on experience with Scrum, continuous integration, and tools including Jira, Mercurial, Git, and Jenkins
  • Experience with test-driven development
  • Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through release
  • Self-directed critical thinker who can work with minimal supervision
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
