Senior Firmware Engineer – Poland Remote

Lead secure embedded firmware development for Kidde Global Solutions’ professional security systems in a senior Poland-remote role. Work across embedded architecture, cybersecurity, RTOS, cloud connectivity, and EN50131 Grade 3 compliance.

Description

  • Develop next-generation professional security systems for buildings and businesses worldwide
  • Connect sub-GHz devices with secure cloud services
  • Embed modern cybersecurity capabilities into connected devices
  • Strengthen secure bootloader and firmware update processes
  • Improve embedded-system performance and efficiency
  • Create reusable product platforms for multiple device families
  • Address real-time engineering challenges in RTOS environments
  • Develop and maintain APIs
  • Make architectural decisions for critical firmware components
  • Help shape hardware, communications protocols, and cybersecurity implementations across product lines
  • Define integration logic for Everon product-family devices meeting EN50131 Grade 3 requirements
  • Maintain solution quality through QA collaboration, debugging, and defect resolution
  • Contribute to verification, validation, certification, and production activities
  • Partner with Product Management, Hardware, Compliance, and Cybersecurity teams
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and internal engineering guidelines
  • Coordinate with global engineering teams across time zones to promote consistent implementation and knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • Advanced experience developing embedded software in C
  • Professional background in cybersecurity
  • Hands-on experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers
  • Knowledge of RTOS and bare-metal programming
  • Proven ability to debug embedded systems
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Experience with secure boot or secure firmware updates is an advantage
  • Experience with RF or sub-GHz systems is an advantage
  • EN50131 or broader security-industry experience is an advantage
  • Experience with ARM Cortex-M STM32 platforms and dual-core processors
  • Practical experience with RTOS and Linux
  • Proficiency using SWD and JTAG debugging tools
  • Experience working with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
  • Knowledge of RS485, Ethernet, and GSM communications
  • Understanding of cryptographic principles
  • Experience implementing CI/CD workflows for embedded systems
  • Willingness to relocate to Gdańsk, Poland
