Senior Electrical Engineer — Remote Canada

Lead electrical engineering design and EPC delivery for Bantrel Co.’s energy, mining, and infrastructure projects in Canada. The role includes mentoring engineers, coordinating multidisciplinary work, and completing ETAP-based power-system studies and technical documentation.

Description

  • Provide technical leadership and subject-matter expertise for electrical engineering solutions
  • Oversee project delivery while meeting industry standards and client requirements across all phases
  • Develop equipment and work specifications, evaluate bids, recommend awards, and review vendor documents
  • Coordinate engineering activities among disciplines, clients, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Lead technical assignments for engineers and project subgroups
  • Mentor junior electrical engineers and support on-the-job training and performance assessments
  • Contribute to conceptual studies, designs, reports, proposals, cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and staffing plans
  • Complete standard electrical engineering work on medium- and large-scale projects with limited technical supervision
  • Resolve technical matters with other departments, including constructability requirements and reviews
  • Design medium- and low-voltage distribution systems and electric heat-tracing systems
  • Produce hazardous-area classifications, single- and three-line diagrams, control schematics, grounding and lighting drawings, cable schedules, panel schedules, and equipment data sheets
  • Complete equipment-sizing and electrical engineering calculations
  • Conduct ETAP power-system studies covering load flow, fault and arc-flash analysis, relay coordination, motor starting, and grounding
  • Provide technical direction and assign or review work performed by engineers, designers, and drafters
  • Use engineering judgment to plan, schedule, and estimate costs for independent work
  • Help foster an open, collaborative workplace that supports trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and employee satisfaction

Requirements

  • An accredited engineering or scientific degree or diploma, or a professional electrical engineering license from a recognized licensing authority
  • At least 20 years of electrical engineering experience on Oil & Gas, refinery, LNG, petrochemical, or mining, metals, and minerals projects within an EPC environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Willingness to mentor less experienced engineers as a subject-matter expert
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry and regulatory codes and standards
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency
  • Successful completion of applicable pre-employment screening, which may include criminal background or police information checks, drug and alcohol testing, reference checks, and submission of a provincial driver’s abstract
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience is considered an asset
