Description

  • Develop and deploy AWS cloud infrastructure, with a focus on EKS
  • Develop and deploy on-premises and portable edge infrastructure
  • Automate deployments to improve service reliability and scalability
  • Administer Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud environments
  • Partner with software teams to integrate applications into infrastructure
  • Monitor production environments, troubleshoot issues, and restore service
  • Improve processes and tooling to support availability and performance
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and relevant industry practices
  • Balance hands-on engineering with team guidance, mentoring, and leadership
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Hold and maintain an active TS/SCI U.S. government security clearance
  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Have 5+ years of DevOps engineering or software development experience with a related bachelor’s degree, 3 years of relevant experience with a related master’s degree, or 9 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Kubernetes or another container orchestration platform
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of AWS services, particularly EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda
  • Use configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible proficiently
  • Have experience deploying, scaling, and managing applications, containers, and operating systems
  • Be able to develop with Python, Bash, or Go
  • Be familiar with Git, Flux, and other development and deployment tools
  • Work comfortably in terminal-based environments
  • Demonstrate strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
  • Bring excellent problem-solving ability
  • Communicate effectively in writing and conversation
  • Understand Agile development methods and standard software development toolsets
  • Have served as a technical lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams
  • Hold a DoD 8140/8570 compliance certification, such as Security+
  • Be willing and able to help open or close the workspace during regular business hours when needed
  • Work at the customer site in Fort Meade, Maryland, five days per week and accommodate schedule changes
  • Preferred: experience with big-data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, and Presto
  • Preferred: experience with containers, EKS, Diode, CI/CD, and Terraform
