Description

  • Gather, organize, and process large datasets with ETL tools.
  • Turn client business objectives into information management and business intelligence strategies.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines with secure access to information.
  • Create metrics and dashboards from collected data, maintaining information quality and integrity.
  • Help modernize the data platform through Lakehouse architecture, governance, quality, and preparation for analytics and AI.
  • Design dimensional models for business teams, dashboards, and reports.
  • Contribute across the data lifecycle, from ingestion and processing through storage, transformation, consumption, and governance.
  • Build and tune pipelines with Python, PySpark, and AWS services.
  • Work with Apache Iceberg on analytical table management, versioning, schema evolution, partitioning, and performance tuning.
  • Use engines such as Athena, Trino, Presto, or Spark SQL to query large datasets in columnar formats including Parquet and ORC.
  • Implement unit and performance tests, security practices, access controls, and cloud monitoring.
  • Improve the quality, traceability, integrity, and efficiency of data processes.

Requirements

  • Experience gathering, transforming, and loading data with ETL tools.
  • Experience using Python and PySpark.
  • Experience with AWS services such as Glue, EMR, Athena, SNS, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, Lake Formation, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB, and related Hadoop technologies.
  • Experience with Lakehouse architecture and Apache Iceberg, including analytical table management, versioning, schema evolution, partitioning, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with large-scale query engines such as Athena, Trino, Presto, or Spark SQL.
  • Knowledge of columnar data formats such as Parquet and ORC.
  • Experience with dimensional modeling, including facts, dimensions, granularity, keys, hierarchies, metrics, and KPIs.
  • Experience processing structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Knowledge of unit and performance testing.
  • Experience applying security practices, access controls, and monitoring in cloud environments.
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner and AWS Data Engineer certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with data quality and data observability is a plus.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Data Mesh is a plus.
  • Knowledge of applying artificial intelligence to data is a plus.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
