Description

  • Build and refine native Android applications with Kotlin and current Android frameworks
  • Deliver secure, accessible, reliable software using automated tests, peer reviews, CI/CD, and disciplined engineering practices
  • Diagnose and fix complex performance, reliability, and production problems with debugging, profiling, logging, and observability tools
  • Take ownership of features from technical design and implementation through release, operational support, and ongoing enhancement
  • Work closely with Product, Design, Architecture, and Engineering partners to achieve customer-focused results
  • Help shape technical direction and participate in architectural decisions
  • Turn customer and business needs into durable, maintainable technical solutions
  • Strengthen the quality and operational health of Telstra’s digital products
  • Find opportunities to improve the Self Service App and B2B customer applications, then help coordinate solutions
  • Provide technical leadership through mentoring, stakeholder collaboration, knowledge sharing, and promotion of engineering excellence

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of advanced Android development experience with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android frameworks
  • Deep knowledge of scalable architecture and reusable software components
  • Practical experience with automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and contemporary engineering methods
  • Advanced capability in debugging, performance tuning, production diagnostics, and highly available mobile systems
  • Experience developing and integrating APIs, microservices, observability tooling, and analytics solutions
  • Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot
  • Ability to lead technically, influence stakeholders, and mentor engineers
  • Android, Google, cloud, security, accessibility, AI, or agile certifications are desirable
  • iOS development experience is desirable
  • Experience with Android architecture evolution, modular design, design systems, accessibility, and large-scale application performance is desirable
  • Experience delivering digital products in large organisations with multiple teams and shared platforms is desirable
  • Basic familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) is desirable
  • Ability to create and configure AI agents and reusable skills for defined engineering or business scenarios is desirable
  • Successful applicants must complete a background check
