Senior AI Data Scientist at Consort Group (Hybrid, Belgium)

Lead end-to-end data science, machine learning, and generative AI initiatives at Consort Group. Build enterprise AI governance aligned with responsible AI principles and the EU AI Act.

Description

  • Own Data Science and AI initiatives from business scoping and value assessment through delivery, adoption, and performance monitoring.
  • Evaluate business needs and feasibility, define success measures, and recommend priorities and investment decisions.
  • Build advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI solutions, or oversee delivery by internal teams and partners.
  • Set and champion sound technical practices for Data Science and AI solutions.
  • Lead the design and rollout of an enterprise AI governance framework aligned with Group standards, responsible AI principles, and the EU AI Act.
  • Create processes for identifying and assessing AI initiatives, validating implementations, and informing investment decisions.
  • Coordinate business, Data, and IT stakeholders while managing risks, dependencies, and decisions.
  • Offer practical technical direction and review team deliverables.
  • Coach colleagues to expand Data Science and AI capabilities.
  • Guide business teams and management on AI opportunities, constraints, and implementation options.
  • Measure anticipated and realized value while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Support oversight and performance monitoring across AI initiatives.

Requirements

  • A university degree in a quantitative or technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least seven years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI.
  • A track record of delivering solutions from business scoping through production and monitoring.
  • Experience serving as a senior technical reference through guidance, work reviews, and coaching for less experienced colleagues.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and work in a regulated environment.
