Remote Sensing Engineer - Dayton, Ohio

Riverside Research seeks a remote sensing engineer to analyze OPIR and SBIRS data, develop sensor-exploitation algorithms, and support national security missions. This onsite Dayton role focuses on infrared sensing, data processing, and advanced detection and tracking challenges.

Description

  • Analyze, exploit, and model infrared and OPIR sensor data, including SBIRS systems.
  • Develop, prototype, and implement advanced data-processing algorithms using Python, MATLAB, and other analysis environments.
  • Investigate sensor and target phenomenology.
  • Create test plans, sensor-collection scenarios, and experiments for complex detection and tracking challenges.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot data-processing workflows.
  • Detect anomalies and software-logic issues, then coordinate remediation strategies.
  • Contribute to CONOPS, white papers, technical documentation, and transition plans.
  • Collaborate with research organizations, DoD stakeholders, and external agencies to assess and integrate emerging sensing and exploitation technologies.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required for all Riverside Research opportunities.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in physics, computer engineering, space systems, or a related technical field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in EO/IR systems engineering, OPIR analysis, remote sensing, or related mission areas.
  • Demonstrated experience with OPIR data formats, processing workflows, or SBIRS exploitation tools.
  • Strong analytical ability, including diagnosing sensor performance issues, data anomalies, and software-logic problems.
  • Experience collaborating with NASIC or other intelligence community organizations is desired.
  • Experience developing CONOPS, technical documentation, or training materials is desired.
