Remote Epic Beaker Systems Analyst

Highmark Health is seeking a remote Epic Beaker Systems Analyst to configure, test, implement, and support laboratory applications. The role includes workflow analysis, issue resolution, documentation, and project management.

Description

  • Configure, deploy, and support Epic Beaker applications
  • Plan, design, build, test, implement, and maintain Epic software
  • Assess system needs and define technical requirements and specifications
  • Analyze workflows, document findings, and evaluate the user experience
  • Maintain application environments using relevant domain expertise
  • Develop and update implementation documentation and training resources
  • Configure Epic environment changes to support consistent, comprehensive workflows
  • Resolve defects, perform routine maintenance, introduce new functionality, and implement emerging technologies
  • Assist end users and troubleshoot their application-related issues
  • Support and independently oversee small to medium-sized projects
  • Keep stakeholders informed about task, project, and issue progress
  • Apply problem-solving and root cause analysis to routine and moderately complex issues
  • Determine appropriate solutions and document completed work

Requirements

  • At least three years of systems administration experience in one or more Epic modules
  • An associate degree is required, or two years of relevant work experience may substitute
  • Obtain Epic application certification within six months
  • Ability to perform analysis, design, system configuration, and testing tasks of basic to moderate complexity
  • Strong customer service capabilities
  • Sound critical-thinking skills
  • Highly effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational ability to manage competing priorities
  • Understanding of project management principles
  • Three years of healthcare industry experience is preferred
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, healthcare, or a related field is preferred, as is equivalent relevant experience
  • Beaker certification is preferred
  • Ability to follow HIPAA requirements, data security standards, company policies, applicable laws, and required training
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds constantly, 10 to 25 pounds occasionally, and 25 to 50 pounds rarely
