Remote Actuarial Analyst – India

Support homeowners insurance pricing at Porch Group through actuarial modeling, rate analysis, data validation, and regulatory filing preparation. This role contributes to predictive modeling, pricing strategy, and performance monitoring.

Description

  • Prepare and validate datasets for pricing analyses while conducting data quality checks
  • Assemble exhibits and supporting documentation for rate filings
  • Compare competitor rates and summarize relevant market trends
  • Perform analyses and investigate findings with guidance from senior team members
  • Help build and validate generalized linear models and rating relativities
  • Take part in technical and peer reviews and apply received feedback
  • Develop dashboards and reports tracking post-implementation performance
  • Maintain and support tools used for actuarial analysis
  • Progress toward actuarial credentials through exam completion and ongoing professional development
  • Contribute to actuarial work involving machine learning, pricing, and modeling
  • Support pricing strategy, predictive model development, and the company’s financial stability
  • Work collaboratively with actuarial colleagues and cross-functional teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline
  • At least one actuarial exam completed, with continued progress toward additional exams
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience, including internships or entry-level actuarial work
  • Strong Excel capabilities
  • Basic SQL proficiency
  • Experience with Python or R is advantageous
  • Careful, detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage work remotely
  • Demonstrated experience working with US-based business teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work an eight-hour day excluding breaks
  • Availability for four core hours overlapping with the US, from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. IST, plus four flexible IST hours
  • A quiet workspace
