Description

  • Maintain financial records and prepare financial reports through accounting support.
  • Handle general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, ad hoc reporting, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, and Prepaid Expenses.
  • Ensure accurate account charging and systematic recording of credit union transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies and accounting errors.
  • Create and maintain workbooks tracking daily and monthly credit union activity.
  • Maintain and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts on daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules.
  • Work with branches and departments to gather information, resolve issues, and correct transactions.
  • Prepare journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assist with month-end financial statements and accounting reports.
  • Support internal and external auditors and credit union examiners.
  • Assist with state, federal, regulatory, and tax reporting.
  • Maintain knowledge and cross-training to support credit union cash management and accounting teams.
  • Complete other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least two years of accounting experience in a financial institution.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel formulas and functions, including pivot tables and lookups.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for investigating and resolving accounting errors.
  • Knowledge of intermediate GAAP accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with accounting databases and tables.
  • Ability to collaborate with branches and departments to gather information and resolve issues.
  • Exceptional attention to detail for accurate reporting and transaction recording.
  • Advanced knowledge of credit union systems and applications used for research, analysis, and reporting.
