Product Manager, Data Acceleration (Hybrid)

Lead SAS data acceleration products across cloud, lakehouse, and AI analytics environments. Own strategy, interoperability, requirements, roadmaps, and cross-functional delivery.

Description

  • Shape SAS platform strategy for high-performance data processing and model execution
  • Guide technology direction for faster data access, transformation, and analytics across hybrid and cloud-native environments
  • Manage SAS SpeedyStore and SAS Data Accelerator for model scoring, code execution, SAS Visual Analytics, and model training
  • Develop integration strategies for open file formats, including Parquet and Iceberg
  • Enable remote connectivity to AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Google Cloud Storage
  • Create the platform product vision in partnership with software engineering
  • Write detailed requirements for a scalable and resilient product roadmap
  • Define interoperability strategies spanning modern data platforms, lakehouse technologies, cloud storage, and open-table formats
  • Set and manage product roadmaps, priorities, and OKRs
  • Keep stakeholders informed about product risks, decisions, and roadmap progress
  • Prioritize product requirements using customer, stakeholder, prospect, and market insights
  • Lead discovery efforts and convert findings into product strategy
  • Coordinate Engineering, Design, UX, Program Management, and related teams around customer and business outcomes
  • Establish success metrics and lead post-launch performance analysis
  • Build business cases and investment recommendations from customer, market, financial, and product-health data
  • Contribute to pricing, positioning, marketing materials, launch and support readiness, and knowledge transfer
  • Present the product to customers and prospects
  • Make product lifecycle management decisions
  • Monitor emerging technologies, business risks, and market opportunities

Requirements

  • At least five years of product management or software engineering experience in data management, decision management, or AI and analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in data science, computer science, or another quantitative field
  • A comparable combination of relevant education, training, and experience may substitute for the stated qualifications
  • Strong practical knowledge of modern data management
  • Experience with cloud databases such as SingleStore, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, and Azure Synapse
  • Experience working with Spark-based platforms, including Databricks
  • Familiarity with open-source runtimes, packages, and libraries such as Python
  • Understanding of SaaS or PaaS business models
  • Familiarity with technologies from cloud platform providers
  • Ability to explain complex technical and business concepts to varied audiences
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and sound judgment in a fast-moving environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and multiple business units
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions and compelling user experiences
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States or Scotland
  • Must not require current or future employment visa sponsorship
