Power Electrical Engineer - Shanghai Onsite

Own generator and medium-voltage component design for Nordex Group’s onshore wind turbines in Shanghai. Coordinate suppliers, product lifecycle management, and field engineering support.

Description

  • Own electrical generators, medium-voltage transformers, and medium-voltage switchgear as product areas within Nordex.
  • Lead concept development, detailed design, validation, and industrialization with external Chinese suppliers.
  • Develop and implement COE concepts.
  • Maintain generator and medium-voltage component data throughout the product lifecycle using PDM and PLM systems.
  • Support Nacelle Production, Global Sourcing, Supplier Quality Assurance, Customer Project Management, and Service.
  • Oversee documentation and lifecycle activities for generators and medium-voltage components.
  • Provide third-level field support, particularly for switchgear and transformers.
  • Work with stakeholders through a customer-focused approach.

Requirements

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or a comparable field.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • At least three years of experience in the wind turbine industry.
  • Able to work independently in a dependable and structured manner.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Demonstrated intercultural competence.
  • Practical, proactive approach to work.
  • Customer-focused approach to stakeholder collaboration.
