Outside Sales Associate in El Monte, CA

Description

  • Achieve monthly and annual sales quotas set by management
  • Visit current and prospective customers to provide support, share information, and sell company products
  • Work with accounting to help ensure customer payments are collected on time
  • Deliver excellent service and build strong customer relationships to maintain high satisfaction
  • Respond to customer inquiries and communications promptly
  • Coordinate urgent customer deliveries to meet their needs
  • Explain how products and services can benefit customers
  • Enter and maintain customer orders in the company database
  • Operate and maintain the company vehicle safely in accordance with company policy
  • Take part in weekly sales meetings
  • Participate in semiannual inventory counts, including possible weekend work
  • Attend company events and functions outside regular working hours
  • Respond to management requests
  • Complete other assigned duties

Requirements

  • Business-level English proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening
  • Business-level Korean proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening required; native-level Korean preferred
  • Business-level Japanese proficiency preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • Ability to drive for most of the workday
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods without prolonged sitting
  • Ability to reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to use the phone for extended periods
  • Must pass the Sake Adviser course within one year of employment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • At least two years of food industry and/or sales experience preferred
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Basic math skills, including markups, discounts, inventory counting, weight and measurement conversions, and combining calculations
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • ERP systems experience, especially AS400, highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Japanese foods and liquors preferred
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Flexibility to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload
