Onsite Software Engineer - Python and C++

Develop operational Python and C/C++ software from scientific algorithms for Areté’s national-security solutions. Evaluate performance on real-world data and help advance prototypes into operational systems.

Description

  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to convert advanced signal and image-processing algorithms from languages such as Python into efficient, reliable operational software.
  • Design, build, analyze, and test applications throughout the transition from prototype to operations.
  • Apply current programming languages and software-engineering practices.
  • Evaluate algorithm performance using real-world datasets.
  • Record findings in technical reports and clearly commented code.
  • Address complex technical challenges as part of a collaborative team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, physics, or engineering, with an emphasis on scientific computing.
  • Practical exposure to college-level physics, mathematics, and/or signal and image-processing methods.
  • Advanced Python programming ability, including experience with NumPy, SciPy, and pandas.
  • Strong programming ability in C or C++.
  • Clear and effective written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and contribute effectively within small teams.
  • Availability to work onsite in the office full time.
  • Ability to obtain and retain a TS/SCI security clearance and required program access.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.
  • Eligibility to access classified information is required.
  • Successful completion of a Department of Transportation drug test is required.
