Motion Planning Engineer, AD/ADAS (Hybrid, Japan)

Develop motion-planning algorithms and C++ software for autonomous driving and ADAS at Woven Planet. Contribute to sensor- and map-based planning systems that support safer mobility.

Description

  • Create motion-planning algorithms using sensor and map data
  • Work with Perception, Control, Simulation, Infrastructure, and Tooling teams to deliver integrated AD/ADAS solutions with strong safety and performance
  • Build lanekeeping, speed-management, lane-change, and lane-planning capabilities
  • Use simulation, continuous integration, code reviews, HIL testing, and in-vehicle testing throughout development
  • Advance research and apply findings through product development
  • Work from the office three days each week under the hybrid policy
  • Report to the planning system engineering manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline
  • At least three years of experience with path planning, vehicle control, or ADAS
  • At least three years of C++ software development experience using GitHub and software-quality support tools
  • Professional working proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Understanding of embedded software implementation and vehicle dynamics
  • Experience with data-driven development
  • Experience developing production AD/ADAS products
  • Knowledge of control methods including PID, LQR, and MPC
  • Experience with Agile software-management tools
