Mobile App Developer (Canada Remote)

Develop AI-accelerated augmented reality mobile applications for aviation and aerospace manufacturers. Build Unity-based software using Agile and test-driven development practices.

Description

  • Contribute across the software development lifecycle by analyzing user and business requirements, responding to outages, and delivering application features
  • Join design discussions and work with clients to refine, test, and debug software
  • Apply AI tools and methods to accelerate development, including testing and validation
  • Develop augmented reality mobile applications for aviation and aerospace manufacturing customers within a 2–5 engineer team
  • Partner with colleagues and customers on software product design and development
  • Interpret requirements and estimate timelines to manage deliverables
  • Follow Agile and test-driven development practices
  • Collaborate with the Tech Lead to decompose user stories into actionable tasks
  • Write and test user stories while implementing requirements through TDD
  • Refactor code to strengthen software quality
  • Record and manage work in JIRA or comparable task management tools
  • Produce and maintain efficient, reusable, dependable code
  • Protect application performance, quality, and responsiveness
  • Diagnose bottlenecks and defects and develop effective solutions
  • Follow Quality Management System and Information Security Management System requirements
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Four to six years of experience developing mobile and/or Unity-based applications
  • Experience using AI as a core part of the software development process
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong foundation in object-oriented programming
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with multiple software design and architecture patterns
  • Understanding of AI capabilities and limitations
  • Experience with several of the following: Unity, mixed reality headsets, iOS, Android and Windows mobile development, C#, TypeScript, and Objective-C
  • Proficiency with code versioning systems and continuous integration
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling and graphics is an asset
  • Strong communication skills with fluent spoken and written English
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
