Part-Time Assistant Accountant – Hybrid Canada

Part-time hybrid Assistant Accountant role supporting Concept2’s manufacturing operations in Canada. Responsibilities include reconciliations, journal entries, financial close, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and GST/HST records.

Description

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable workflows, including invoices, payment requests, expense reports, vendor and customer records, and routine collections
  • Prepare and post journal entries while keeping accounting records complete and accurate
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and other accounts, investigating variances and resolving routine discrepancies
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Compile financial and management reports, supporting schedules, and budget materials
  • Keep the fixed asset register current, recording acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and capital expenditures
  • Calculate monthly depreciation and amortization amounts
  • Assist with payroll accounting and related reconciliations
  • Maintain GST/HST and other tax records and reporting
  • Organize financial documentation and comply with company policies, internal controls, and applicable Canadian requirements
  • Handle additional related responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related discipline
  • One to three years of accounting or bookkeeping experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Canadian accounting practices and GST/HST requirements
  • Experience using accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or ERP systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas and spreadsheets
  • Consistent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management
  • Discretion when handling confidential financial information
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
