Financial Programme Coordinator

Coordinate budgets, grants, and compliance for humanitarian programmes while supporting country offices and monitoring financial performance.

Description

  • Serve as the primary financial partner to assigned country offices, providing strategic guidance across the programme and funding lifecycle.
  • Lead the review and preparation of proposal budgets, budget narratives, cost-allocation methods, and donor submissions.
  • Assess funding opportunities, risks, cost recovery, and operational feasibility to inform Go/No-Go decisions.
  • Track portfolio performance through budget-versus-actual analysis, financial forecasting, and pipeline monitoring, recommending corrective action where needed.
  • Help country offices develop multi-year budgets and funding forecasts to identify gaps and growth opportunities.
  • Maintain compliance with donor requirements, internal policies, and financial procedures for grants, funding, and partnerships.
  • Provide financial analysis for portfolio reviews, country programme discussions, and funding management activities.
  • Assist with audits, risk mitigation, grant close-outs, and implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Build country-team capability through training, mentoring, and coaching in donor compliance, financial management, and grant budgeting.

Requirements

  • Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in programme finance, grant management, and donor funding within international NGOs.
  • Strong understanding of donor compliance, budgeting, financial monitoring, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with the financial requirements of major institutional donors.
  • Experience supporting finance teams and working with programme, grants, and partnerships functions.
  • Strong analytical ability, including identifying risks and improving financial performance.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel and financial management systems proficiency; Oracle NetSuite knowledge is an advantage.
  • Arabic fluency is an advantage.
