Description

  • Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL and Oracle databases
  • Support database provisioning, installation, upgrades, patching, and server maintenance
  • Manage backup, restoration, high-availability, disaster-recovery, and failover procedures
  • Monitor database performance, alerts, and operational dashboards, and apply tuning as needed
  • Implement database security, auditing, configuration, and compliance controls
  • Create SQL scripts and automate database administration tasks
  • Resolve database incidents and conduct root-cause analysis
  • Coordinate with application, infrastructure, security, and operations teams
  • Participate in occasional scheduled after-hours maintenance

Requirements

  • At least four years of database administration experience
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, SQL Server, SQL Clustering, and SQL scripting
  • Experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and Microsoft Access
  • Experience building and administering standalone SQL and Oracle databases
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving database problems
  • Experience maintaining servers and performing software installation, upgrades, and patching
  • Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and restoration processes
  • Experience with database performance tuning, monitoring, security, automation, and incident management
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation abilities
  • Must live and perform all work within the United States
  • Willingness to complete federal background or suitability screening and fingerprinting when required
  • Availability for eight working hours daily between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM Eastern Time
  • Ability to support occasional scheduled after-hours maintenance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Professional SQL Server or database certification preferred
  • Current or previous federal background investigation or Public Trust preferred
  • Federal government or federal contracting experience preferred
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Idera, SolarWinds, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Datadog, and/or Dynatrace preferred
  • Experience supporting cloud database environments preferred
