Management Accountant, Capital Reporting

Manage capital reporting, fixed assets, and development finance for Retirement Villages Group. Provide analysis and commercial insight supporting the growth of its retirement communities.

Description

  • Maintain the Group Fixed Asset Register for property, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and plant and machinery
  • Calculate and post monthly depreciation, reconciling the Fixed Asset Register with the finance system
  • Prepare capital reporting for monthly management accounts, including new-home profitability analysis
  • Track and report development project expenditure, budgets, and cash-flow forecasts
  • Prepare month-end journals and reconciliations for development entities, covering stock, capital projects, bank accounts, intercompany balances, accruals, and prepayments
  • Support balance-sheet and P&L reporting for development companies
  • Calculate and monitor intercompany transfer margins and related consolidation eliminations
  • Review new-home sales and rental-unit performance, providing constructive challenge and insight
  • Work with the Development team on financial analysis and commercial support
  • Partner with FP&A to budget and monitor marketing expenditure for new developments
  • Assemble audit packs for development entities and support audit queries with analysis
  • Develop effective relationships across Finance and Development
  • Contribute to finance, systems, and business transformation initiatives

Requirements

  • Experience in management accounting or a comparable finance role, preferably in property, development, construction, or another capital-intensive setting
  • Part-qualified or currently pursuing CIMA, ACCA, or ACA
  • Advanced Excel capability, including XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and PivotTables
  • Strong systems proficiency with an interest in improving processes and working practices
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach to meeting deadlines
  • Ability to explain financial information clearly to finance and non-finance colleagues
  • Collaborative and approachable, with the relationship-building skills needed to work across a business
  • Proactive, practical mindset with a willingness to get involved and resolve problems
