Legal Counsel, Contracts and Litigation – Devimco (Hybrid)

Serve as legal counsel for Devimco, a Quebec real estate developer, with a focus on contract drafting, dispute management, and regulatory support across real estate and construction.

Description

  • Advise business units on legal matters and organizational strategy
  • Draft, negotiate, and interpret real estate and construction contracts, including ACC and CCDC agreements
  • Support the preparation and negotiation of diverse contracts and related documents
  • Prepare and review deeds, agreements, confidentiality agreements, account-opening documents, and corporate records
  • Coordinate external counsel and monitor the progress of assigned mandates
  • Guide internal teams on legal issues involving construction projects and contractual relationships
  • Manage litigation involving construction and real estate operations
  • Evaluate legal risks, develop settlement approaches, and coordinate proceedings with external counsel
  • Respond to requests for information, claims, and interventions from the CCQ, CNESST, RBQ, and similar bodies
  • Help implement and maintain personal information protection practices under Law 25
  • Track legislative and regulatory changes affecting the organization’s business areas

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law
  • Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in private practice or an in-house legal role
  • Relevant background in construction law, real estate law, and civil and commercial litigation
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing the real estate and construction industries
