Lead Architect, China (Shanghai Onsite)

Lead Shell China’s end-to-end IT architecture across infrastructure, applications, data, and digital platforms. Set architecture strategy, governance, compliance, technology standards, and capability development.

Description

  • Lead China’s architecture strategy, roadmap, and governance across business domains, infrastructure, applications, data, and emerging platforms
  • Convert business priorities, transformation initiatives, and business-as-usual localization needs into compliant, practical, and future-ready solution designs
  • Align enterprise standards with China’s regulatory, market, and technology context while guiding technology selection and adoption
  • Lead architecture assurance, stage-gate reviews, risk management, technology standards, architecture documentation, and Tech Radar updates
  • Work with IDTMs, business stakeholders, and global architecture and engineering communities to shape portfolios, prioritize initiatives, and support delivery
  • Provide architectural leadership on emerging technologies, including China-specific digital and AI capabilities
  • Expand architecture capabilities as demand increases

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of experience in digital and IT
  • At least 10 years of experience in business and technology-focused IT architecture
  • Demonstrated architecture impact and successful delivery outcomes
  • Extensive end-to-end architecture experience spanning applications, integration, infrastructure, and large-scale platforms
  • Previous software engineering or solution architecture experience is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Downstream, China infrastructure, Chinese regulations and compliance, ERP/SAP, AI, and Sales & Marketing and/or Supply Chain domains
  • At least 10 years of experience leading and developing people, especially architects and technical design teams
  • A strong delivery orientation with agile and product-focused working practices
  • Logical problem-solving ability and a results-focused approach
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and bilingual communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across virtual, cross-cultural, and geographically distributed teams
